Miss Piggy Every wonder why Muslims don't eat pork? I always thought it was because at that time in history, pork often carried diseases. Was I ever surprised to read this story in a book teaching people about Islam.

We eventually decided not to put the story on the website for the simple reason that it only takes one person to cause a whole lot of trouble. So, even though it is not an offensive article and is indeed intended for Muslim education, and is not a joke, we decided not to post it. If you'd like to read the article just email us and we'll send it to you. Here are comments from various individuals regarding the article in response to our question as to whether we should put it on the website or not. Bagi saya, ini adalah cerita yang sangat menarik karena ini hanya sekedar lelucon tidak lebih dari itu, jadi jangan berpikir terlalu serius mengenai cerita tersebut. Meskipun , mungkin bagi beberapa orang cerita ini adalah cerita yang sama sekali bukan untuk dibuat sebagai lelucon. Tapi saya meminta agar kalian semua memberikan perhatiannya pada keseluruhan cerita dari kisah ini dan pada akhirnya maka kalian dapat mengakui (mengambil kesimpulan) bahwa cerita ini tidak bertujuan untuk melakukan pendeskriditan ataupun menyakiti beberapa kelompok masyarakat tertentu. Hi all, I'm moslem, so based on our Holly Qur'an (2:173, 5:3, 6:145, 16:115) there should be no doubt and debate. Then according to the story, we can see that the moral of the story is not to consumed bad thing (not allowed), the result is also bad. Dear Brian, The task you give gets more challenging. This time not only does it test our English skill but also our understanding, additionally our thought to give opinion whether you have to put the story on the web. A reading is just structured words. If your purpose of taking that story is to help westerners learn Bahasa Indonesia, there’s nothing wrong with that. But we both know that when reading a reading, while trying to translate it, at the same time someone is trying to comprehen the meaning/essence implied. This is what then leads to many interpretations. Moreover if the reading is related to certain religion (Islam, Cristian, Budha, Hindu, or others) without any evidence or accountability postulate – only opinion- , the impression caused by that will also be various and possibly is result in the formation of someone’s stigma toward that certain religion. That’s why Brian, in my opinion, if you want to present a reading material especially for public consumption in order to learn Bahasa Indonesia, it is better to pick another one. There are so many things that can be used as the topic of reading material/learning, for example: Indonesian culture , its history, funny story about a family, etc. Finally, I would like to say, it is a truly remarkable thing if we can decide something wisely. Saya kira cerita tersebut tidak akan menyinggung perasaan umat islam. Tapi, saya tidak tau apakah agama lain akan tersinggung dengan cerita tersebut. Saya sarankan untuk memuat cerita-cerita lain yang tidak mengandung unsur agama di situs kamu, untuk menghindari hal-hal yang tidak diinginkan.

Hi Brian, I agree with Ben that you shouldn't included this story eventhough it is interesting since it's just a joke. And nothing more. Just like the story of Nasreddin ( I bet you have heard or read about it )		Saya setuju dengan Ben, yang mengatakan bahwa tidak seharusnya cerita ini diikutkan karena ini hanyalah sebuah lelucon. Dan tidak lebih dari itu. Seperti cerita si Nasreddin ( Pastinya Anda sudah mendengar atau membaca tentang cerita ini )
